Sushi and Sake

Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish, consisting of vinegared rice called shari combined with another ingredient called neta, which is typically raw fish or seafood (but not exclusively).
A selection of sushi will be prepared in front of you by Sushi Chef Victor from the Makū restaurant in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, along with an exceptional selection of sakes chosen and presented by Gaël, founder of the import/distribution company Pure Saké Is Good.

• Victor, “Sushi Chef” at Sushi Bar Makū

o Victor is a self-taught sushi chef. To perfect his craft, he trained as a fishmonger and shucker for 3 years alongside Arnaud Vanhamme, Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) 2011. Then, in 2023, he graduated from the World Sushi Skills Institute in Tokyo and was recognized as a Sushi Chef by Japan.
o The Makū team decided to open their sushi bar in the heart of the 16th Arrondissement, in a minimalist and welcoming setting. The chef couple welcomes you around a 12-seat counter, just like in Japan, where they offer a culinary experience that combines Japanese tradition and creativity. The quality and freshness of the products are a priority for their restaurant, which sources fish daily from sustainable and responsible fishing.

This workshop will be held in French with some translation into English if necessary.
