Cheese and Sake

It is often difficult to pair wine and cheese! So why not choose a sake? As you’ll discover, it’s surprising—even stunning! In this master class, you’ll experience the exceptional compatibility of cheese and sake through a tasting of 4 or 5 different cheeses, each paired with 1 or 2 sakes. Of course, a great deal of subjectivity is involved in these pairings, so this will be an opportunity for everyone to choose their ideal match from 4 to 6 sakes that are offered!
Over the years, the sake and cheese workshops at the Sake Fair have become not only a classic but also an essential part of exploring and understanding the richness of cheese-sake pairings. This is done by tasting one—or sometimes several—sakes with the same cheese. The subjective dimension of these pairings will have its place, and you’ll even be able to choose the pairing(s) that best suit your personal taste.

In partnership with Fromagerie Taka & Vermo – 61bis rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, 75010 Paris.
Founded in 2015 by Laure Takahashi and Mathieu Vermorel in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, Fromagerie Taka & Vermo offers 150 hand-picked cheeses, which are aged in a cellar below the shop.

This workshop will be held in French with some translation into English if necessary.
