While everyone is back from the Summer break, it is a very special start for us this year since the “Salon du Saké” European Fair for Sake and other Japanese Beverages is celebrating its tenth edition!

The Salon du Saké is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Paris: a decade of passion to celebrate!

The Saké Fair, an unmissable event for sake professionals and lovers in France and Europe, is celebrating its 10th anniversary from September 28 to 30 in Paris. To mark this exceptional anniversary, the event is structured around the theme “A decade to celebrate, another to imagine”.

An anniversary marked by renewal

Despite a complex economic context marked by the Olympic Games and the current weakness of the yen, the 2024 “Salon du Saké” European Fair for Saké and other Japanese Beverages promises many new features.

For the very first time, producers from the magnificent sake regions of Fukushima and Yamagata will be presenting their exceptional brews. These two regions, renowned for the quality of their water and rice as well as for the diversity and know-how of their producers, are thus enriching an already exceptional selection of sakes from the most beautiful producing regions of Japan.

This anniversary edition also sees the arrival of new distributors and producers from Japan… but also from France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

A rich and varied program

The detailed program of events will be unveiled soon and promises to satisfy all palates. At the heart of this event, visitors will be able to discover a multitude of sakes, participate in Master-classes and round tables led by experts, attend fascinating conferences and discover the most surprising food and sake pairings during tasting workshops.

A growing craze for a decade

In ten years, the Salon du Saké has established itself as the essential meeting place for professionals and sake lovers in France and Europe. This success testifies to the growing craze for this age-old drink and the diversity of Japan’s terroirs and sake houses.

“10 years of sake in France and Europe: a success story!

Remember: 2013-2023, in a market still in its infancy, the first Salon du Saké in Paris was already taking on a European dimension to become, from the following editions, the most important show dedicated to Japanese sake outside Japan; with a resounding success and a new participation record reached in 2023 (5,716 visitors from 41 countries).

In just 10 years, sake exports from Japan to Europe have exploded, multiplied by 4.6 in value! France, for its part, has experienced even more dazzling growth, with a multiplication by 6.6! (Amount of sake exports in yen between 2012 and 2022 – source: Japanese Ministry of Taxes)

The European Sake and Japanese Beverage Show, witness and actor of this revolution, has contributed to making this age-old drink known and appreciated by an ever-wider audience ranging from professionals in the beverage and gastronomy sector in France and Europe to the general public and its fans who are increasingly passionate about the Japanese drink. »
