The Fukushima Prefecture, Guest of Honour at the 2025 Salon du Saké, Reveals the Secrets of its Multi-Awarded Sakes 4 September 2025 – Posted in: 2025 Press Release, News
The “Salon du Saké” European Fair for Sake and Japanese Beverages, which will be held from October 4th to 6th in Paris at the New Cap Event Center (75015), is pleased to announce that the 2025 guest of honour prefecture will be the famous sake region of Fukushima.
Known for consistently winning the most gold medals at the National New Sake Competition, the benchmark competition held in Japan for over 100 years, Fukushima Prefecture invites professionals and the general public to discover the richness of its terroir and the excellence of its sake producers.
With its 56 sake breweries, Fukushima has risen to the top of the sake world thanks to the quality of its rice, including the famous Yume no kaori or the more recent Fukunoka, and the purity of its waters. This year, five renowned kura such as Kinsuisho Brewery, Kokken Brewery, and Sasamasamune Sake Brewery will be making the trip to present their creations. From the light and fragrant sakes of Kinsuisho, produced with local rice and water from the Arakawa River, recognized as the best in Japan for 14 consecutive years, to the award-winning daiginjo of Kokken, and the local and ancestral roots of the delicious sake from houses like Sasamasamune, each bottle tells a story of passion and expertise.
Visitors are invited to explore the Fukushima stands, meet the producers, taste their delicious sakes, attend a different Master Class each day dedicated to the prefecture, and participate in the special “FUKUSHIMA” pairing workshop* on Sunday, October 5th for a unique sensory experience.
(*paying workshop, carte blanche given to the two Michelin-starred chefs of the restaurant “Accents – table Bourse”, pairings of 5 sakes with 5 dishes, limited seatings, remember to book!)
