Traditions et (R)evolutions – Salon du Saké 2019 – 6th year 26 September 2019 – Posted in: 2019 Press Release, NEWS_EN
A few words of welcome from Sylvain Huet, founding president of the “Salon du saké” European Fair for Sake and Japanese Beverages:
“In 2013, when a group of passionate friends first got together to organise the inaugural Salon Du Saké, I could not imagine that this event would become so important in the world of sake that today all of Japan wants to attend!
In its 6th year, we will welcome 11 major sake regions of Japan including, for the first time, the prefectures of Shizuoka and Iwate in addition to the Hokkaido, Mie, Hyogo and Tottori Prefectures and the producer groups of Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara, Niigata and Saga!
Thank you to all the sake producers for trusting us and supporting us to continue to expand the appreciation and appropriation of this drink which is both so traditional yet so modern at the same time.
This year, therefore, we have chosen the theme of tradition and evolution: the revolution of our favourite drink. You will find many cultural, culinary and even musical events to take you on a journey from the oldest Japanese traditions – for example the centuries-revered eel – to the most modern ways of eating – street food- both, of course, perfect matches for sake!
There are 35 events this year to help us all better understand all the evolutions of this tradition.
I wish you many exciting sake discoveries and enjoyment (of course, everything in moderation!)”
