2021 “Salon du Saké”, a Resumption and a Success exceeding expectations

The 2021, Seventh “Salon du Saké” European Fair for sake and Japanese Beverages, October 2, 3 and 4, Paris:
Placed under the the “Innovate in the face of unprecedented challenges” theme and taken up with great success

The 7th “Salon du Saké” European Fair for sake and Japanese Beverages closed on October 4 after 3 days of high participation by all the trade players; this event resumed after the postponement of the 2020 Salon due to the pandemic. The unexpectedly high attendance came as a very pleasant surprise for everybody and its success exceeded substantially all expectations.

Indeed, the professional players in the beverage, food and gastronomy, restaurant and catering, and in the wholesale and retail sectors came in much larger numbers than anticipated, a year after the postponement of the 2020 Salon. The “Salon du Saké” is definitively a very well established, must-see event by now. Actually, a large number of exhibitors had to rebuild their stocks (among them some as early as by the end of the first day); and the organizers of the Salon had to set up waiting lists for the programmed conferences and tasting workshops.

Special Workshop: Pairing Caviar and Sakes

You are invited to discover some exceptional pairings of caviar with the sake.

Subtle yet powerful, this exceptional dish is usually paired with vodka…But the subtleties and charms of the sake canbrilliantly replace the vodka, and whilestaying away from the traditionally Russiancustoms, let us discover or re discover the first-class sturgeon eggs.

Each of us is being provided with a small case of10 gram of this fabulous, if not legendary, delicacy, and we will try to find together the perfect pairing. Sure, a good measure of subjectivity is likely to affect the various ways to work out the pairing; at the same time, this is also the opportunity for each of us to compare and to select, among the three sakes that are being proposed, one’s ideal and unforgettable pairing!

This year, we are experimenting a new formula for our workshops, shorter, more playful. These workshops are expected to allow you to explore and to understand even more easily the full richness of the food and sake pairings by tasting several different sakes with the same dish. The subjective dimension of these pairings will certainly be present and rightly so and you will even be able to select the pairing (or pairings) that best matches (match) your own taste.

2021 Salon du Sake: third and last day today

The 7th “Salon du Sake” European Fair for Sake and Japanese Beverages opened on Saturday and will end at 6 p.m. tonight.

Big success already for the first 2 days when attendance, especially professionals, exceeded our expectations and those of our exhibitors who were delighted to meet and discuss with such a varied audience eager to discover and taste their new products.

For the general public who came in large numbers this weekend, it’s over and the appointment is made for next year: Salon du Sake 2022 to be held on October 1-2-3, 2022.

For professionals, one more day, with 3 Master Classes which are exclusively intended for them. Reservation still possible for some and waiting list for others. Please go to Ticketing page to make your reservations.
